Discover Aviation Days will take place at the Anoka County Airport in Blaine June 2nd & 3rd, 2012.
There will be flying demonstrations, kid’s activities, numerous aviation exhibits, aircraft & helicopter rides, food booths and more! General aviation and corporate aircraft, experimental, WWII fighters, trainers and bombers and modern military aircraft will all be on display. Those interested in a career in aviation can stop by the numerous aviation and education booths. A Pancake Breakfast & Lunch to be served both day. An evening Hangar Dance with 1940’s swing music from David Andrew’s Big Band Saturday night.
This year, we have an extra feature, as part of our show; the "American Veterans Traveling Tribute" will be on display. This traveling display is an 80% scale of the Vietnam Wall in DC, along with many other exhibits like WWII and Korea, the display itself is 400 feet long and 300 feet deep and is open for viewing 24 hours starting June 1st at 12-noon. We are told this exhibit brings out a minimum of 12,000 visitors each time it set's up. With our usual 6,000 to the D.A.D. show, we now anticipate around 20,000 visitors attending throughout the 2 1/2 timeframe.
