The Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Roseville Visitors Association (RVA) to host the Twin Cities’ only Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament at the Guidant John Rose Minnesota OVAL on August 11-12, 2007.
Gus Macker began in 1974 in Lowell Michigan with 18 friends playing a competitive driveway basketball game. Tournaments are now hosted in over 75 cities with 200,000 players and 1.7 million spectators enjoying the event each year. Gus Macker tournaments are open to all ages. Participants must sign up in teams of four, in categories based on age, size and talent levels.
Although Gus Macker tournaments have been held downtown Saint Paul and in various east metro locations, this is the first year the OVAL will host the tournament. The OVAL will be transformed into basketball courts and become Mackerville this summer, and we are anticipating 400 teams (1,600 players) and up to 5,000 spectators.
